How to Make Carne Asada
Your carne asada can be ultra tender, with a secret ingredient that works for almost any cut of beef you want to grill. We’re sharing our tips on how to make supremely flavorful, tender, juicy carne asada right at home.
Ingredients
Skirt or flank steak
Soy sauce
Garlic
Lime juice
Olive or canola oil
Sugar
Ground cumin
Ancho chili powder
Optional toppings: Pico De Gallo, avocado, lime & cilantro
Kiwi fruits
Instructions
Add soy sauce, garlic, lime juice, oil, sugar, cumin, onion powder, and chili powder to a dish and whisk. Dry the beef, poke holes & place in the marinade. Chill 3-9 hours.
Marinade & Grill
During the last 30 minutes of marinade time, evenly press mashed kiwi onto all sides of beef. Grill steak just until browned, and interior is medium rare.
Slice & Serve
Transfer steak to cutting board and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. Then, slice very thinly against the grain and serve immediately with your choice of toppings.
Serve
Carne asada is delicious with tortillas, rice, avocado or Pico De Gallo.
