Chinese  Sticky Rice

(Meal Prep Friendly)

Discover how easy it is to make a pot of your own Chinese Sticky Rice. Serve it as a stuffing, a side dish, or as a meal in itself. This is a fabulous dish to make ahead of time; perfect for meal prep.


 Short-grain Glutinous Rice Shiitake Mushrooms  Chinese Sausage | Oil | Ginger Rice Wine Vinegar |  Tamari  Oyster Sauce | Sesame Oil White Pepper | Broth | Scallion

Do Ahead...

Rehydrate dried mushrooms by soaking in warm water for about 1 hr. Drain well and chop. Set aside.


Drain soaked rice and rinse with cold water. Set aside. Stir fry ginger for 1min. Add Chinese sausage and Shiitake mushrooms, stir fry for another minute.


Add in rice wine, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and rice. Stir to coat thoroughly. Add broth, stir to incorporate, and bring to a boil.

Once it reaches a boil, reduce to simmer. Cover & cook 45 min. Turn off, let it sit for at least 10 min, covered. Do not peak! Carefully stir, from bottom to top throughout. Cover and let stand another 10 min.

Garnish with freshly sliced scallions,  and serve.
